William was the 2nd son of the 2nd Lord Maynard. Thomas was the MP for Eye [1710-1715] and West Looe [1715-1722]. He was educated at Christ's College, Cambridge and was employed as the commissary general of stores in Minorca 1717-1723 and commisioner of customs 1723-1730 in Suffolk.
